Discipleship: Day Nine
Romans 10: 9-10: that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.
Many have made Jesus their Savior, but have they made him Lord of their life? At one time, I was saved, but Jesus was not my Lord, my job was my lord, and took precedence over everything else in my life. But praise God, that has changed and it can change for you.
The first step is found in the Scripture above, we must confess the Lord Jesus and believe in our hearts! This is the first and most important step you can make to becoming a child of God.
This confession places you “in Christ”. “IN Christ” where all your rights and privileges are! “IN Christ” where all your blessing flow! To fully understand what the term “in Christ” means, read and study the Epistles as a personal journey. Underline all the terms “in Christ, in Him, In whom etc you find, study these verses and meditate on them. It will lead you to fully understand who you are in Christ and the privileges, blessings and responsibilities that come with being a child of God.
We will be discussing this in a limited view in the next few lessons.
Confession: I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
I believe that God raised Him from the dead for my justification. God is now my Father. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth Jesus as Lord and Savior. I am now “in Christ”. He is leading and directing me daily. Jesus is the Lord of my life.
