Lordship: Day 12:
John 15: 5. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6."If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7. "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
Romans 12: 2. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Isn’t it interesting that both Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul say the same thing but in different ways?
Jesus tells us when He abides in us and us in Him we will ask what we desire and it shall be done for us! Paul tells us we are to transform our mind, to renew it daily with the Word of God so that we may prove the good, acceptable and perfect will of God!
To abide in the Word, you have to spend time in it daily! To abide means to dwell in, live in. You have to live in God’s Word every day. Not just read it in a quick devotional but get into it, study it, live it, speak it. You must make it a reality in your everyday life! God’s Word should become more real to you than anything you hear or see on TV, radio or read in the newspaper.
Why is it we will believe anything we hear in the news but we have trouble believing in and repeating God’s Word in our lives? We will see the news, talk about it, worry about it, keep up with it, let it influence our lives, but we won’t give God’s Word this precedence in our lives! God’s Word is alive and it will change your life if you let it! Decide today to dwell in the Word as a branch of the vine. Don’t be cut off and die!
Confession: I abide in God’s Word. I renew my mind with the Word of God every day. I meditate on God’s Word and let it lead me, guide me and renew me daily. I know what the perfect, acceptable and good will of God is because I dwell in the vine. Jesus is the vine and I am the branch. I thrive daily. I do not wither and die!
