Prayer: Day 16:

Binding

Matthew 16:19  And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Proverbs 3:3  Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart,

Proverbs 6:21  Bind them continually upon your heart;  Tie them around

your neck.

Isaiah 61:1  “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

So many people see only the side of binding that produces a mental image of chaining up something so it can’t hurt them.  The Hebrew word “chabash” translated as “bind” in this verse means heal, bind up, wrap about, and hold together.  We read within the very same scripture that spiritual prison doors are to be opened, to set free those the enemy has bound. (Hebrew: “acari” – made prisoner, held fast, girded about, and kept.)

Confession:

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I bind my body, soul and spirit to the will and purposes of God.  I bind myself to the truth of God.  I bind myself to an awareness of the Blood of Jesus working in my life everyday.  I bind the strong man and I loose his hold on everything he has stolen from me.  I rebuke his works and loose the power and effects of every deception, device and influence he wants to bring against me.
