Stewardship: Day 26
Luke 16:10 Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.
- So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?
- And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?
God expects us to be honest and trustworthy with everything He entrusts to us. We must be faithful with what has been given to us before we can be entrusted with more. God will never entrust us with more than we can handle. When we are faithful with what is given to us, we will be trusted with more. Faithfulness in the small things opens doors for greater responsibility.
God expects us to be faithful with the small things as well as the larger. Many times we will ignore the small things thinking they are not really important, but God looks at the small things and can see the motives our heart. If our heart is right with the things that we might think are small and insignificant, it will be right when we are entrusted with more as well.
We must be trustworthy with what belongs to someone else. For example, while at work we should be honest and responsible with the people, time, money and possessions that are entrusted to our care. As we are faithful and trustworthy with what belongs to someone else, God will entrust us with greater responsibility of our own.
Confession:
I understand the importance of being faithful with little things so that God can entrust me with greater things. I will be honest and trustworthy with what belongs to someone else. In being so, God will give me greater responsibility of my own. I will be faithful with what ever has been entrusted to me.
