Stewardship: Day 29
John 4:35 You have a saying, 'Four more months and then the harvest.' But I tell you, take a good look at the fields; the crops are now ripe and ready to be harvested!
John 4:36 The one who reaps the harvest is being paid and gathers the crops for eternal life; so the one who plants and the one who reaps will be glad together.
Matt 6:33 Be concerned above everything else with the Kingdom of God and with what he requires of you, and he will provide for all your needs.
As Christians we are to look at the primary purpose for giving. It is for the spreading of the Gospel and the work of the ministry. The Lord Jesus has commissioned us, his church to preach the Gospel and to do the work of the ministry. As we sow our time and money into ministry, making an eternal difference in peoples lives, God promises to not only provide for all of our needs, but to prosper us so that we’re able to continue to give.
“And God is able to give you more than you need, so that you will always have all you need for yourselves and more than enough for every good cause.” (2Cor 9:8)
God wants us, who now have eternal life to live and think from an eternal perspective.
“Do not store up riches for yourselves here on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and robbers break in and steal.” (Matt 6:19)
“Instead, store up riches for yourselves in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and robbers cannot break in and steal. (vs.20)
“Your heart will be where your treasure is.” (vs.21)
As we are faithful stewards of what is entrusted to us, God will entrust us with more, to each one according to own our ability. God’s heart is to provide for ministry. He is looking for faithful stewards to not only supply seed to, but to multiply it, so that we may do even more. (Matt 25:14-30) &
“Now He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for eating, may He supply and multiply your seed, and increase the fruits of your righteousness.”(2Cor 9:10)
CONFESSION:

God will give me more than I need so that I may continue to give.
