“The Blood of Jesus Part 4

Fulfillment and Power”

In the past lessons, we have been learning about the true significance of the Blood of Jesus. We learned of God’s plan from the beginning of time, starting in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve, continuing through His Covenant with Abraham, His deliverance of The Children of Israel and the institution of the Passover. We discussed the true importance of the Passover then and now and what it means in our lives, that Jesus has become our Passover. We discussed the importance of the Blood Covenant and what God truly intends it to be in our lives, if we will only accept it.

Ladies, God loves us more than we can even begin to imagine and His plan for our redemption is a marvelous thing. We really need to understand what God, through Jesus Christ, has given us. The blood of Jesus is a provision from God that totally defeats the enemy and we need to understand it and use it as God has intended us to do. Amen?

Let’s begin in Ephesians Chapter 2.

Ephesians 2:1-10: And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,

in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,
among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. 4. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5. even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6. and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7. that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9. not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

We all are familiar with Romans 3:23: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. We all have lived a sinful life, not necessarily a bad or evil life but a sinful one, in the we were separated from the presence of the Almighty God by sin. Many times people think, “I’m a good person, I don’t cheat on my husband, I take care of my family, I don’t drink, smoke or swear, I’ve never robbed a bank or killed someone. I’m a good person.”

I think today, especially in the USA, we believe that leading a “good life” is all that is necessary. I think I read a study once that stated most people believe in a life after death.

My take on that is, is they believe in another life, and that all it takes is being a “good person” to make sure you don’t go to hell.

The movie “Ghost” comes to mind. The leading character is murdered and his spirit cannot go “towards the light” until he figures out who killed him. In the end, it was one of his coworkers who among other things wanted his wife for himself. It is a classic good vs evil story with the bad guy being dragged into darkness by “hounds of hell.” However, the most essential part of the story is missing. That is, that no matter how good a person you are, if you don’t know Jesus as your personal Savior, than you are doomed.

We need to get this message to as many as we can in our lifetime. Jesus Christ came to seek and save that which was lost. He gave His life for you and me, so that I would not have to pay for my sin. I cannot stress this enough, to have eternal life, you must believe in Jesus Christ, that He died on the cross and rose again for you. Amen!

Let’s look again at our Scriptures.

Verse 4 tells us, that God who is rich in mercy, because of His great love for us, made us alive together with Jesus. He raised us up together with Christ and we now sit in heavenly places with Him, so that in the ages to come, we will come to understand the riches of His grace and His everlasting kindness toward us. These verse go on to tell us it is by grace we are saved, and by nothing else. It is God’s grace and kindness not something we have done.

Ladies, it is so important for us to realize that there in not one thing we can do to earn our salvation. Paul spent countless hours, writing letters to the early Christians, explaining this very thought. We are saved by grace and grace alone. All we have to do is believe in our heart and say it with our mouth. Amen?

How does all this apply to our lesson today? Let’s look again in Ephesians 2.

Ephesians 2: 11-13: Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands

that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been made near by the blood of Christ.

It is the blood of Jesus that has changed the whole picture. We who were not Hebrew, as defined as circumcised, and being aliens form the promises to Israel had no hope, we were without God. But, Praise God, we have been brought near by the blood of Jesus. The shedding of the blood of our Passover Lamb that took away the sins of the World!

It is so very important for us to realize what the blood of Jesus has brought us.

It has brought us atonement and redemption:

Leviticus 17:11: `For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.'

Leviticus 4: 24-26: 24. `And he shall lay his hand on the head of the goat, and kill it at the place where they kill the burnt offering before the Lord. It is a sin offering. 25. `The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour its blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering. 26. `And he shall burn all its fat on the altar, like the fat of the sacrifice of the peace offering. So the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.

This is only two examples in Leviticus explaining God’s plan of atonement. His provision for his people until the fulfillment of His promise by Jesus Christ. Jesus was the slain animal, his blood was sprinkled for us on the real altar of God, by Jesus our High Priest.

Hebrews 9:11-12: But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.

Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

It has brought us salvation:

Mark 14:24: And He said to them, "This is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many.

Acts 4:12: 12. "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.'

It has brought us healing:

Isaiah 53:5: But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

1 Peter 2:24: 24. who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness by whose stripes you were healed.

It has brought us fellowship and cleansing:

1 John 1:6-7: 6. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Revelation 1:5: and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,

It has brought us protection:

Exodus 12:12-13: 2. `For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord. 13. `Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

It is important for us to remember that all who came under the blood was saved. Anyone could have painted their doorway with the blood and believed in its power and been saved.

It is the same today, believe and be saved!

It has brought us power over the enemy.

Revelation 12:11: "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

1 John 4:4: "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

1 John 5:4-6: For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world our faith. 5. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 6. This is He who came by water and blood Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.

It has brought us peace:

Colossians 1:19-20: For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell,

and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.

We have peace which is not just a “restful” feeling, but the sense of total wholeness.

It many places in the Word it is the Hebrew word “shalom”, translated peace. The whole sense of the word is much more, it encompasses salvation, healing, prosperity and total wellbeing. God has guaranteed your complete wholeness through the blood of Jesus!

We need to learn to use the blood properly. This means living the life God has planned for us. Look with me again in Ephesians 2.

Ephesians 2:10: For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

We were created for good works. That is much more than “doing good works”! We do good works because we love God. The good works referred to here is much more.

It is living by faith, doing what God has called us to do collectively and individually.

We each have a purpose and we must, to truly be fulfilled, follow God’s outline.

Ladies, use the blood. Live the blood. Life a life worthy of Christ.

Colossians 1:10: that you may have a walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

It these two verses are not underlined in your Bible, I urge you to do so. Keep them in your heart and ponder them daily. They are so important. We must walk worthy of God.

Use the blood in your daily life, plead it over your household and children, over your home and cars. Plead it over your life and your husband’s. Anoint your home. Understand that the blood is not only a tool to be used, but a way of life to be lived.

Don’t think you can live any way you want and then when things get bad you can run around “pleading the blood” of Jesus and it will be effective. God will not be mocked and what a man sows, he will also reap. Choose now to live that life worthy of God! Amen.
