Go

Mark 16:15:  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

  1. 16. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

We have probably all heard this message at one time or another, Jesus telling his disciples

That they should go into all the world and preach or proclaim the Gospel message, and to share the good news.  These were the last instructions Jesus gave to His disciples in Mark’s accounting of the Gospel. Considering it was to be Jesus’s last verbal set of instructions given to His disciples, this must be a very import thing to be said.  There must be a great weight of importance in this last set of instructions. Jesus could have said a lot of things but he said Go, and preach.    What is so important about preaching you might ask?   The Word of God gives us the answer to that question.

Rom:10:14:  How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?

and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

The answer to that is you can not call on him if you don’t believe, and you will never believe if you have not heard.

If you skip down to the 17th verse of Romans you will see why.

Rom:10:17:   So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

This is the only way faith can come for salvation, or for that matter any other of the promises of God.   We have to hear first in order to believe.  Faith comes by hearing,

and hearing by the word of God.

Something happens through hearing the Gospel that can’t happen any other way.

Faith is produced in your heart,  and you believe. When you believe, and then act on what you believe, by speaking it out of your mouth, the miracle of the new birth happens.

We can go back to the tenth chapter of Romans and see this.

Romans 10:9:  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

  1. 10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

1st  you have to believe and 2nd you have to confess. I don’t want you to think this is so cut and dry that all you have  to do is some formula.  No, it is a principle of God’s Word.

Jesus said a similar thing in the Gospel of Mark, only in a slightly different way.

Mark 11:23:  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain,

Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart,

but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Here Jesus said to believe only once but to say 3 times, maybe we need to do more

saying to go along with our believing.

  • Paul said to the Romans:

Rom:1:16. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

That Word power in the Greek language is,

Dunamis     Pronounced doo'-nam-is

specially, miraculous power (usually by implication, a miracle itself):

ability, abundance, meaning, might deed),  power, strength, violence, mighty.

When a person believes  in the Lord Jesus Christ and confesses Him with his mouth, a mighty powerful act of God occurs. The new birth, you are transformed from death to life, from darkness to light. I’ll never forget the day I was born again, the weight of the world was lifted off of my shoulders. It is the most wonderful thing that can happen, to actually experience the life of God, and to know that you will live with God forever.

Col:1:13: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

Jesus has already done His part, now it is up to us to do our part, believe and confess.

You may think this sounds too easy, but God made the rules.  I would like to invite you to partake of this life, it is so easy all you have to do to partake of the free gift of eternal life

is to earnestly pray this prayer.

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. Your word says, “…and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.”   (Jn.6:37),

So I know You won’t cast me out, but You take me in, And I thank you for it.  You said in your Word,   "whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.''     (Ro. 10:13).

I am calling on Your name,  So I know You have saved me now, You also said, “…that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.”     (Ro.10:9,10).

I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe He was raised from the dead for my justification. And I confess Him now as my Lord, Because Your Word says, “… with the heart one believes to righteousness…” and I do believe with my heart, I have now become the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Cor. 5:21),

And I am saved!            Thank You, Lord!

I can now truthfully say,  I see myself as a born again child of God!

                                                             Glory to God!!!!          Amen.
