THE DAYS OF YOUR LIFE

Psalms 119:84: How many are the days of Your servant? When will You execute judgment on those who persecute me?

Job 7:6: My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and are spent without hope.

Job 10:12: You have granted me life and favor, and Your care has preserved my spirit.

Our life here on earth no matter how many years we live is too short if we are not living for God.  It is extremely easy to waste time, thinking we will do better or do more tomorrow and then “tomorrow never comes”.  One day we wake up and we are older and we look back and think “what did I do with my life.”

James 4:14: 14.  whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

It is important for us to realize that our life goes by too fast!  It is up to us to make our lives a difference. I want to ask you today, has your life been one spent living for and glorifying Jesus Christ the Lord?  Or do you just live day by day, fitting God in whenever it is convenient?  I know in the past, my relationship with the Lord was a convenience thing, not a commitment thing!  It is that commitment to serve the Lord with all your heart that will make the difference.

The verse above gives us two contrasts, one in Job 7:6: our days are spent without hope.

And the other in Job 10:12: God has granted us life and favor and His care preserves our spirit! I think of both of these and look at the second as being the most important in my life now. There was a time I felt that my life was spent without hope.  I went about day to day working, raising my children and just living an uninspired life.  Now, I know there is another way and it is one spent with a God who has granted me favor and life! Amen!

When we were children we had no worries. We spent days going to school, playing, eating, sleeping and depending on our earthly parents to meet our needs.  We spent time gratifying ourselves and if we are not careful our adult life will be spent in the same wasteful pattern.

It is not about you and your needs!  It is about God and the furtherance of the Kingdom of God.!

Matthew 6:34: "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

We are not to worry! We are not to waste one more minute of our lives worrying about how we are to pay our bills, buy groceries, clothe our family, repair our marriage.  WE ARE NOT TO WORRY!

Psalms 37:8: 8.  Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret it only causes harm.

One translation states “do not worry it only causes harm.”

Have you ever heard that old saying: “worry yourself sick”?  Health care providers will tell us that worry and stress are the leading cause of many health conditions today.

1 Peter 5:7: 7.  casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

God cares for you!  He will meet your needs and take care of you, you don’t need to worry about it. You give it to God, don’t take it back and he will care for you.  We are so quick to pray about something, think we are giving it to God, but we don’t leave it there.  If we don’t see the answer we think is the right answer, immediately, then we take the problem right back on our shoulders and fall into worry and stress.  Does this describe you?
As the old hymn says “take it to the Lord in prayer.”  We are faithful to do that part but are we faithful to leave it there?  Many times the answer is “no!”

Well, that that is easier said than done, you might say.  Yes, that is true. It is not easy to not worry, as someone once said, people are born worrying. One of the easiest ways to accomplish this is found in the following verse.

Matthew 6:33: 33.  "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Spend time with God, spend time seeking the things of God and then you will not have time to worry about your problems.  That is God’s job, let Him do it.  Do not waste another minute of your precious life on Earth with worry.

Don’t waste another day not doing God’s will in your life.  One day you are going to wake up, you will be older, slower, with less energy and you will look around and say, “I have wasted my life and now I am too old do really do anything for God.”

That is a lie from the pits of hell!  It is never to late.

Matthew 7:1: "Judge not, that you be not judged.  2.  "For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the same measure you use, it will be measured back to you.

Not only are we not to judge others, we are to judge ourselves.  We need to look at our lives and see the areas of sin, unbelief and disobedience and repent.  Repent means to turn away.  You are to turn away from these displeasing areas and turn to things that please God. Trust, walking in faith and love are areas that please God. Make up your mind today to begin to walk in these areas.  It starts with one step at a time.  A small child does not start out running and neither will you, you have to make changes in your life one at a time.

Look at yourself today, what area in your life immediately comes to mind that you know in not pleasing to God?  Make up your mind today, to ask God’s forgiveness and change.  Start fresh, start new!.

Another important area is forgiveness.  We must not hold grudges and walk in unforgiveness.  Unforgiveness is like a cancer in your spirit and will overtake it if you do not stop it now.  Unforgiveness breeds anger and strife.  You cannot have a relationship with God if you are walking in unforgiveness.  It is not worth it, to cut yourself off from the blessings of God Almighty because someone did something to hurt you or someone you love.  Our lives are too short to let something like this overtake it.  When you are young in your teens and early twenties, you think fifty five or sixty is old.  But when you hit your early forties your realize fifty five is not old.  As you get into your fifties you realize seventy five is not old.  Don’t wake up one day and be almost fifty and realize you have wasted your life.  Don’t be afraid to change it once you realize have wasted it.  It is never to late.

Psalms 71: 9,18:   Do not cast me off in the time of old age; Do not forsake me when my strength fails…18.  Now also when I am old and gray-headed, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come.

Let this be your prayer today,  “Lord let me declare your strength to this generation and the ones to come.  Even as I am older, Lord use me to declare your glory.” Amen.

Psalms 148:12-13:  Both young men and maidens; Old men and children. 13. Let them praise the name of the Lord, For His name alone is exalted; His glory is above the earth and heaven.

Let your voice be hears both young and old, Praise the name of the Lord, Give glory where glory is due!

Don’t waste the days of your life!

Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior?  Do you want to be a joint heir with Christ?

If so, I urge you to earnestly pray the following prayer.

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. Your word says, “…and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.”   (Jn.6: 37),

So I know You won’t cast me out, but You take me in, And I thank you for it.  You said in your Word,   "whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.''     (Ro. 10:13).

I am calling on Your name,  So I know You have saved me now, You also said, “…that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.”     (Ro.10: 9,10).

I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe He was raised from the dead for my justification. And I confess Him now as my Lord, Because Your Word says, “… with the heart one believes to righteousness…” and I do believe with my heart, I have now become the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Cor. 5:21),

And I am saved!            Thank You, Lord!

I can now truthfully say,  I see myself as a born again child of God!

Glory to God!!!!          Amen.
