The Power of Our Words  (Pt.2)

De.30:14. But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.

Rom:10:8: But what does it say? "The word is near you, even in your mouth and in your heart'' (that is, the word of faith which we preach):

Rv:12:11: And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

He.4:14. Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

We are being encouraged to hold fast to our confession of faith. Faith always comes from the hearing of God’s Word. We hear God’s Word and believe, and we often start off right and begin to proclaim the truth, but along the way something happens.  We start to look at the circumstances and see all the problems surrounding us. We get discouraged and start to dwell on the problem instead of the answer. The next thing we know we are speaking doubt instead of faith.  We've substituted the faith that was in our heart and replaced it with doubt.  This second confession will nullify the first confession of faith, and render it void. It doesn’t have to be this way.  Hold fast to what you believe.

In the Greek   He.4:14   literally says,  let us hold fast to saying the same thing.

In other words be consistent in what you say.  Keep saying the same thing. Regardless of the circumstances, speak the Word of God in faith.  Say it, and keep saying it!  Never, give up.  Keep your eyes on the One who can solve the problem instead of the problem itself, then when you speak you will be speaking faith in God and His Word, not in the enemy and his lies. Give God a place to work with on your behalf.

Since faith comes from hearing the Word of God,  you hear the words of your own mouth and faith will rise up in your heart. When you do this, you are testifying to what you believe to be true, and confirming the truth that has been planted in your heart. Keep this testimony strong and continually confirm the truth and see it become so deeply establish as to become an unshakable pillar of truth in your life that can not be shaken regardless of what the world throws your way.

The Lord showed me something years ago and I wrote it down. I have found that truth is eternal and  never changes.  This is what He showed me, faith that produces results is a quality decision based on the revealed Word of God and spoken out of your mouth.  When you were born again you made a quality decision.  You heard the Word preached, faith arose in your heart and you made the decision to make Jesus the Lord of your life. You confessed with your mouth that Jesus was Lord, and God raised him from the dead for your justification, or something very similar to that. That’s when the miracle of the new birth took place. Even though faith had arisen in your heart to get saved, the miracle of the new birth would never have taken place without your act of faith. We have to make the decision once the Holy Spirit makes the truth real to us to act on it. God has chosen speech as one of the main ways to do this.  He wants us to declare what we believe, and line our words and faith up with Him and His words. What an awesome God we serve.

Proverbs 12:18  There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise promotes health.

This is an awesome revelation, you are not going to have health unless you talk health.

Get this revelation into your spirit!

Make a quality decision based on God's Word about your health, and begin to speak your faith into reality. Make a quality decision about your finances and begin to speak your faith into reality. Make a quality decision about who you are in Christ Jesus and begin to proclaim it. Hold fast to saying the same thing. Confession brings reality.  I’m convinced it will. So, don’t talk sickness, unless you’re wanting sickness.  Talk health.  Remember,    the tongue of the wise is health.

If you catch yourself speaking the opposite of what God is saying through His Word,  then check up on what you have been feeding your spirit.  Feed your spirit with the good Word of God,   and then start speaking it back out of your mouth.  For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. When you have come into a crisis is when you will really find out what is in your heart. You may know people in a crisis situation, who are being squeezed by the pressures of life. This is when you find out what is really in their heart or spirit, just listen to them and you will hear their hearts abundance.

It’s kind of like squeezing a tube of toothpaste.  Only toothpaste can come out of the tube because only toothpaste is in the tube. Many have missed this very basic principle of God's Word.  Only what has been put in can come out. We blame God, and many will doubt the reality of His Word because they are not getting the kinds of results that they think  they should be getting. Therefore these precious promises can't be true can they, after all I’m not to blame.  God forbid!  His Word is true and reliable and can always be depended on.   Always!!!!!!           Check up on what is in your heart!

Ep.4:29  Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.  30. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

You’re one of the hearers!   Speaking doubt and unbelief grieves the Holy Spirit.  None of us would want to do that deliberately.  Yet we often do just that with our words. We speak words that do not edify, and this grieves the Holy Spirit.

2 Timothy 2:16  But shun profane and vain babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.

Ja.3: 8.  But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

  1. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. 10. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. 11. Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening?  12. Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring can yield both salt water and fresh.  13. Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.  14. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.

James said it so well I don’t think I could even elaborate on it other than to say,  just, let’s be aware of the words of our mouth.  We must turn our tongue to God.

1 Timothy 6:12  Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Our opening Scripture  from pt.1      Psalms 19:14   Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

God’s Word never fails!   We should put our total trust in Him.  So often we're looking for someone to do something for us, that only God's Word can do. I can’t do it for you, and you can’t do it for me, but we can help each other, uplift each other, and encourage one another.  That’s what we should be doing!   But in the end you will have to fight your own fight.   Just remember that the battle has already been fought and won! The victory is ours in Christ Jesus, so start walking in it and acting like it is true. The circumstances can change, but God's Word never changes. Our words are so important, we have got to realize this. Our words are the boundaries of our lives.  We can never realize anything beyond the words we speak. We can never rise above our confession. Whether its faith or doubt, we shall have whatsoever we say.         Amen

Here are some more good confessions right out of God's Word that I would encourage you to begin to meditate on, and speak over your life and the lives of your family.  Let God's Word become your hearts abundance.

Never say you can’t.

Ph.4:13.  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Never confess fear.

2 Ti.1:7.   For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Never confess lack of faith.

Ro.12:3.   For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Never confess weakness.

Nehemiah 8:10.  Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Never confess lack of strength.

Ps.27:1.   The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Never confess supremacy of Satan over you.

1Jn.4:4.  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Never confess sickness.

Matthew 8:17.  that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.''

Say these scriptures in the first person.  Make these confessions of faith yours,  and keep on saying them. Hold fast to saying the same thing!!!

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself took my infirmities and bore my sicknesses.''

Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior?  Do you want to be a joint heir with Christ?

If so, I urge you to earnestly pray the following prayer.

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. Your word says, “…and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.”   (Jn.6:37),

So I know You won’t cast me out, but You take me in, And I thank you for it.  You said in your Word,   "whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.''     (Ro. 10:13).

I am calling on Your name,  So I know You have saved me now, You also said, “…that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.”     (Ro.10:9,10).

I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe He was raised from the dead for my justification. And I confess Him now as my Lord, Because Your Word says, “… with the heart one believes to righteousness…” and I do believe with my heart, I have now become the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Cor. 5:21),

And I am saved!     Thank You, Lord!    I can now truthfully say,

I see myself as a born again child of God!     Glory to God!!!!     Amen.
