Prayer: Day 20:

Praise:

Matthew 6:9  In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

When Jesus taught His disciples how to pray, His first focus was on entering the presence of God with praise. It does not have to be long or loud, but we do need to

Worship God with all our hearts.

Psalms 100:4-5: Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.  5.  For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.

The psalmist tells us to enter into the gates of God’s presence with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise.  Jesus echoes this teaching in the above verse.  We should never enter the presence of the Lord without first thanking Him for His goodness towards us and then praising His name.

Jesus drew attention to the Names of God. The enduring truth of these names has lasted to all generations, and will continue to do so.

Today, start afresh, begin praising God aloud for being Jehovah-jirah (Provider), Jehovah-rophe (Healer), Jehovah-nissi (Banner), Jehovah-rohi (Shepard), Jehovah-tsidkenu (Righteousness).  Now your praise shall continually be in my mouth.  You are my Healer, Deliverer, Savior and Miracle-worker.  I choose to trust you completely.

Confession:

Father, I praise you this day for influencing my priorities for provisions, for pardon of every sin, for protection from every evil work. You are my provider, my healer, my banner and my shepherd. Jesus has become my righteousness and my peace. Your praise will continually be on my lips. Thank you God for your goodness and mercy.
